Alex Relph
Alex Relph gained a degree in sculpture in 1989 at Norwich school of Art under the tutelage of Ana Maria Pacheco. He has since specialised in working in metal producing sculpture for commissions and exhibitions.
He has been invited to exhibit widely in London and across the UK often in outdoor sculpture exhibitions and with galleries including Morwood Art in Bruton, Kobi and Teal in Frome and Rachel Bebb Contemporary in Hampshire. His work has been featured in awarding winning gardens at the RHS Chelsea Flower show where he has also regularly exhibited.
As well as making sculpture other work involves designing and producing furniture and architectural metalwork. He still considers these pieces to be innately sculptural and enjoys blending the boundaries between art and design. He has a catalogue of many successful commissions for numerous private and commercial clients.
Alex has also produced many notable pieces of public art including a 50 metre screen Wyndham Way, Portishead, 2010 and Entrance Gates for Cemaes Park, Cardiff, 2011. His work has been featured in various editorial press. Publications include The Telegraph, The Sunday Times, Gardens Illustrated, The English Garden, Wallpaper and G.Q magazine. He now lives and works in Frome, Somerset with his wife and two children.
