Gerald French was a painter of portraits, abstracts and landscapes who studied at Bradford College of Art. French took part in the ‘Yorkshire Artists’ exhibition at the Leeds City Art Gallery in 1965. In 2002, a selection from five decades of painting by this energetic colourist were shown alongside other Bradford Alumnis, including David Hockney at ‘The Bradford Years’ exhibition at the Dean Clough gallery, Halifax.
