Born in Surrey, artist James William Winterbottom taught painting at Harrogate School of Art and Farnham College. His work is held in The Mercer Art Gallery, Harrogate. The ‘James Winterbottom Bursary’ is one of the Royal Collage of Art’s sponsors.
