M A Mathers exhibited her work in London from 1911 to 1919 and lived there and in various towns in the South of England.

One of her drawings, Lil, appeared in The New Age, a series edited by Walter Sickert in 1914.

Walter Sickert wrote in The Complete Writings on Art, ‘M A Mathers is a revelation of a brilliant talent’. An illustration of hers entitled ‘Lil’ appears in The New Age, vol VI no 10.
