MILES COLE
In 2012, Miles returned to painting after a fifteen year hiatus – during which time he carved out a successful career as an illustrator.
His work is rooted in the tradition of British and European post-war Modernism, particularly abstract painting – drawing inspiration from various sources such as the coastal landscape, and the architecture and geometric design of the city.
These are the catalyst for what then becomes a sensual engagement with materials – deconstructing and reconstructing forms until a point of departure from the subject matter has been reached through reimagined compositions and textures.
Miles lives and works in North London.
