[tab:biography]

Qualified as an architect in 1967, worked for Norman Foster for two years, then taught at the University of North Dakota, Fargo, before returning to London to set up Sidell Gibson Architects with Ron Sidell.
Architect for many buildings in central London and Birmingham, and works in historic environments including the museum to display the Crown Jewels in the Tower of London, and works at Windsor Castle following the fire damage.
Retired from the practice in 2002 to follow interest in graphics and printmaking.
Recent work is partly based on photographs, using digital means to simplify the visual information leading to images that emphasise the underlying geometry in the everyday. Other works start out as simple geometric grids, and then by overlaying distorted layers evolve towards a state more evocative of natural phenomena.
