Ada Bond
Ada Bond is a London-based artist and a graduate of the Slade School of Fine Art. Her practice draws from an extensive archive of online imagery, personal memory, and contemporary visual culture, creating paintings that navigate themes of identity, fetishisation, hyper-visibility and self-construction.
Bond's work employs an alluring, often playful aesthetic that invites closer examination of the psychological and social complexities embedded within representations of femininity. Through haunting, surreal imagery and a distinctive visual language, she explores the idea of "girlhood" not as a fixed identity but as a performative and evolving condition–one shaped by desire, vulnerability, projection and digital culture.
Working primarily in painting, Bond combines elements of cuteness, sentimentality, and unease to create works that are at once familiar and disquieting. Her paintings balance intimacy with ambiguity, encouraging viewers to question the boundaries between self-image, fantasy and cultural expectation.
Her work has been exhibited in London and internationally, including exhibitions at Soho Revue, London; Richard Heller Gallery, Los Angeles; and Gallery 46, London.
