Beth Carter

Beth Carter is a visual artist based in Bristol, UK, and an Academician at the Royal West of England Academy, UK. Her sculpture and drawings often morph the human figure with animal, creating mythological creatures and extraordinary fictional compositions. She is represented by galleries in the United Kingdom, USA and Belgium and has work held in the permanent collection of Femmes Artistes du Musée de Mougins (FAMM), France (Europe’s only museum dedicated to female artists from the past 160 years) as well as the permanent collections at Muskegon Museum of Art, MI, USA and New Salem Museum and Academy of Fine Art, MA, USA.

Three of Carter’s ‘Minotaur’ sculptures are currently on-loan to the Commune of Mougins, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, France, for public exhibition at the Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Vie in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the death of Pablo Picasso and she has been invited to install a further twenty to thirty sculptures throughout the village for Mougins Monumental for the duration of 2026 and her Minotaur on a Box sculpture was exhibited in the Animeaux Fantastiques at the Louvre Lens in 2024 while on-loan from The Levett Collection of female artists.
